Big Boy Restaurants International, LLC je lanac restorana sa sjedištem u američkom gradu Warren u državi Michigan (u metropolitanskom području Detroita.[2] Uz njega postoji i Frisch's Big Boy Restaurants sa sjedištem u Cincinnatiju u državi Ohio. Ime Big Boy, dizajn, estetika naslova i meniji su prethodno bili pod licencom u nizu regionalnih franšiza.
Big Boy je godine 1936. pod imenom Bob's Pantry osnovao Bob Wian u Glendaleu u Kaliforniji.[3] Restoran je poslije postao poznat kao "Bob's, Home of the Big Boy Hamburger" (sh. Bobov, dom Big Boy hamburgera) odnosno kao Bob's Big Boy. Postao je lokalni lanac pod tim imenom, a kasnije je Big Boy pod franšizom vodila kompanija Robert C. Wian Enterprises. Godine 1967. je Marriott Corporation otkupila Big Boy. Jedan od većih operatera franšiza, Elias Brothers, otkupila je lanac od Marriotta 19878. godine i premjestila sjedište u Warren u Michiganu, sve dok je 2000. nije proglašen bankrot. Za vrijeme stečajnog postupka je prodan investitoru Robertu Liggettu, Jr., koji ju je preimneovao Big Boy Restaurants International i zadržao sjedište u Warrenu. Kompanija danas vodi franšizu od 80 Big Boy restorana u SAD.[4][5][6][7] Big Boy Restaurants International također pod licencom drže 279 Big Boy restorana u Japanu.
Odmah nakon Liggettove kupovine,, Big Boy Restaurants International—tada pod imenom Liggett Restaurant Enterprises—ugovorio je sporazum sa drugim vodećim operatorom franšize Frisch's Restaurants. Zaštitni znak Big Boya u Kentuckyju, Indian i većini Ohioa and Tennesseea je došao u Frischovo vlasništvo; sve druge Frisch'sove teritorije su otišle Liggettu.[8][9] (Bankrot je zbog zaprijetio Frisch'sovom korištenju zaštitnog znaka Big Boy.) Tako Frisch's više nije vlasnik franšie, nego dijeli zaštitni znak sa Big Boy Restaurants.[10] Frisch's vodi 121 Big Boy restorana u SAD.[11][12][13]
